Penn Stainless Welded Pipe | Welded Pipe is inventoried per ASTM A 312, ASTM A 358 or as rolled and welded.Common grades of stainless include 304/304L and 316/316L in standard pipe sizes and schedules including Sch 5, Sch 10, Sch 40s and Sch 80s. More challenging stainless welded pipe requirements including 304H, 316H, 309/S, 310/S, 317/L, 321/H, 347/H, 410, 410S, Duplex 2205, are also available. |
Penn Stainless Seamless Pipe | Seamless pipe per ASTM A 312 are inventoried in 304/304L and 316/316L. We supply other stainless grades, including 304H, 316H, 309/S, 310/S, 317/L, 321/H, 347/H, 904L, 330, 254SMO, 410. In duplex grades, we can supply 2205 and 2507. Some nickel grades are also supplied. |
Penn Stainless Welded Tube | Welded tube is inventoried per ASTM A 269, ASTM A 249 or as rolled and welded. 316/316L Stainless Steel
Penn Stainless inventory includes 316/316L (UNS S31600 / S31603), in sheet, sheet coil, plate, plate coil, bar, structural and tubular products. Generally, this grade is dual-certified to meet both 316 and 316L. Alloy 316/316L is ideally suited for applications requiring corrosion resistance superior to Type 304 and has good elevated temperature strength.
General Properties
Alloy 316/316L is molybdenum-bearing austenitic stainless steel. The higher nickel and molybdenum content in this grade allows it to demonstrate better overall corrosion resistant properties than 304, especially with regard to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride environments. In addition, Alloy 316/ 316L provides excellent elevated temperature tensile, creep and stress-rupture strengths, as well as outstanding formability and weldability. 316L is the lower carbon version of 316 and is immune from sensitization; therefore, it is very frequently used in heavy gauge welded components.

304 Stainless Steel
Penn Stainless inventory includes Alloy 304 (UNS S30400), in sheet, sheet coil, plate, plate coil, round bar, processed flat bar and tubular products. Alloy 304 is ideally suited for home and commercial applications.
General Properties
Alloy 304 a T-300 series stainless steel austenitic, which has a minimum of 18% chromium and 8% nickel. Type 304 has a maximum carbon of 0.07% . It is the standard “18/8 stainless” that is commonly found in pans and cooking tools. Alloy 304 is the most versatile and widely used alloy in the stainless steel family. Ideal for a wide variety of home and commercial applications, Alloy 304 exhibits excellent corrosion resistance and has a high ease of fabrication, outstanding formability. The austenitic stainless steels are also considered to be the most weldable of the high-alloy steels and can be welded by all fusion and resistance welding processes.
